Mineralogy:
Pietersite is a brecciated, chatoyant variety of quartz (SiO₂) containing fibrous inclusions of crocidolite (a form of riebeckite) that have been altered and cemented by silica. Its swirling patterns of blue, gold, brown, and red create a dynamic, storm-like appearance known as “the Tempest Stone.”
